In and around the foot, the most common issue I see is plantar fasciitis. Unlike the -itis suffix suggests (-in usually denotes proteins, -ase usually denotes enzymes, -ectomy means cutting something out etc.), it is not actually a true inflammation due to infection or anything heinous. It is very tight and tender soft issue. This usually manifests itself by a pulling/burning sensation when you step or run and feels like a tight band underneath your foot. Usually strengthening the calf muscles and rolling the bottom of the foot over a golf ball or (empty) beer bottle will help solve the pain and get you back into full action at work or home.
