The number one culprit for neck pain is muscle weakness!! But no you're not necessarily weak! So how does that work?? Well your muscles will spasm and tighten up as a ‘emergency response’ when they are very fatigued from what you are doing throughout the day, if they can’t handle it. So you have two options, 1) change how you do things though out the day - which is a very viable option! 2) And/or you can increase the fitness of the muscles in your neck and shoulders to handle what is required of them throughout the day. A fantastic way of doing that is through ‘face pulls’ or ‘diamond pulls’ with an elastic theraband. Another option for treatment might be something as simple as raising your computer screen to a height that doesn’t require you to slouch or bend in an awkward to read your emails.
